142 Students Take Oath Ceremony of the Physiotherapist Profession

Faculty of Health Sciences UMS – Physiotherapist Professional Education Universitas Muhammadiyah Surakarta (UMS) held an Oath Ceremony for the Physiotherapist Profession Batch V on Monday, March 28, 2022 at Lor In Hotel, Monday (27/3)

UMS Chancellor Prof. Sofyan Anif, M.Si in his speech said that the physiotherapist’s oath event had a deep meaning.

“This is a momentum, how to reflect as a physiotherapist profile figure by holding fast to the promises that have been made and of course also having character,” said UMS Chancellor as quoted by @umsofficialid (28/3/2022).

He also hopes for the value of competitive advantage for UMS graduates, by providing 2 advantages, first the strength of Science and Technology (IPTEK) according to their respective study programs or fields, and secondly religious values. The combination of the two is a provision to serve the community.

“I, as the Chancellor, am certainly happy and proud if the physiotherapist graduates show good performance, and are widely referred to by the community. Due to the performance of UMS graduates who can contribute to the nation and state,” concluded the UMS Chancellor.

On the other hand, Parmono Dwi Putro, S.Ft., MM as the Chair of PERFI (Indonesian Physiotherapy Association), conveyed a message to the physiotherapist inauguration who had taken the Professional Oath today, that this title should not only be interpreted as a change in status.

“This is a process of increasing broad and deep knowledge. In professional education, this is also a place for character formation, and this formation requires a time dimension,” said the PERFI Chairman.

According to him, physiotherapists must have excellent driving force in making changes.

“Let’s move forward for people who need physiotherapist services. Move to be the light of knowledge, because science is what elevates humans,” he added.

On the same occasion, Dinik Ayundya Marli, Ftr as the representative of the Participant of the Professional Oath, said that after getting this professional title, he was still dedicated and respected the name of the UMS alma mater.
